About Christian College Parents

I’m Bonnie McGrane, President  and Founder of Christian College Parents (CCP).  Helping your child with the college selection/application/financial aid process can be very stressful.  And after you’ve made it over that hurdle,  they go to college, which brings its own set of problems for both the college students and you.  For Christian parents, some of these issues are especially worrisome.

I helped my children with the college selection/application/financial aid process, as well as dealing with college issues during a particularly stressful period in my and their lives.

Right after our son Chris started University of Houston and our daughter Kat entered her sophomore year in high school, my husband Hugh was diagnosed with ALS, (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), which is a fatal disease.

The only way I could cope was with God’s help.  My favorite Bible verse is:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.                                   Phil 4:13

After Hugh’s passing, I thought about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.  I knew I wanted to do something that would help others.  A college degree is essential in today’s world, but it can also be  very expensive.   I decided to help other Christian parents help their children get a college degree without putting themselves or their children in huge debt.  I also wanted to help other Christian parents help their college students deal with the issues that college students face today.

In addition to my own experience, I’ve spent two years researching all the relevant topics, and continue to do research.   I also found experts in the different aspects of getting into and attending college to give Christian College Parents the benefit of their collective wisdom and experience.

Although Christian College Parents has a Christian viewpoint, it is my hope that it will be helpful to all parents of future and current college students.  I hope that CCP will be a blessing to your family.
